by Paul Tennant, Eagle Tribune | A Lawrence man who had a turbulent youth and knows what it's like to be homeless is now a senior at Georgetown University and recently received a prestigious award at that institution of higher learning.

Emilio Joubert, a native of Haverhill, was this year's recipient of the McTighe Prize. This award is given to an outstanding student at Georgetown. The university's alumni include former President Bill Clinton, the late U.S. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, former Senate Majority Leader George Mitchell and the late U.S. District Court Judge John Sirica, who is credited with forcing the uncovering of the truth about the Watergate scandal.
