Hello Lawrence Public Schools families.
As you know, the school calendar is unchanged during the closure, and April vacation will be observed next week (April 20-24) as originally scheduled. I want to take this opportunity before the break to once again express my gratitude to the entire LPS community for its commitment to teaching and learning during this time, and to share some brief but important items:
LPS has finalized the grading policies, based on state guidelines, which will be in effect during closure for grades k-8 and high school. They can be found at LawrencePublicSchools.org, along with our Learning at Home resources, on the frequently updated Questions and Answers site.
MCAS testing has been cancelled statewide for this school year. We will share additional updates from the state as we get them, including possible changes to the graduation requirement for current seniors.
Grab ’n go meals will be continue to be served next week, following the state holiday on Monday. Breakfast and lunch are available Tuesday-Friday from 11-1 for any Lawrence child (ages 1-18) at the Parthum, Arlington, Frost, Guilmette, Lawrence High campus and Salvation Army (250 Haverhill St.).
Thank you all again, and please stay safe and well. We look forward to connecting with everyone when remote learning resumes April 27th.
Cynthia Paris
Superintendent of Schools
